welcome to the neighborhood

Located only 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, nestled on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. You can find a relaxed and personalized atmosphere in this one-square-mile area with a population of 2,397. The city is a perfectly unique blend of old and new.

What’s in the neighborhood

Coalition is about the combined efforts of chefs, cooks, servers, farmers, vineyards, and brewers and I see that partnership extending to our guests by providing the highest quality food and service in a warm and welcoming environment.

Licks Unlimited

Home to over 40 premium ice cream flavors, this family-owned downtown shop is a nirvana for sweet-craving locals and travelers.

Excelsior Brewery

A family-owned and operated microbrewery located in the heart of Excelsior. A welcoming community-centric gathering place since 2012. We brew a wide variety of beer styles with a focus on traditional methods and ingredients.

Minnesota Streetcar Museum

The Minnesota Streetcar Museum collects, restores, and exhibits all electric streetcars operated in Minnesota.

Excelsior Commons

The 13-acre park includes open recreation areas, picnic sites, playgrounds, two swimming beaches, tennis courts, baseball fields, a band shell, bathhouse, public restrooms, docks, buoys, and docking for public excursion boats that provide lake access for those who do not own personal boats.

In addition to traditional park uses, such as picnics and family gatherings, the Excelsior Commons and Port of Excelsior serve diverse recreational opportunities for all age groups with the annual Art Fair, Fourth of July celebration, organized sports, and other large events.
